On Christmas Eve, Mam Nata was found outside of IAPA and was approximately 8 weeks pregnant. She was very weak and could not stand up, and was also terrified when they found her. It took some time to calm her down. Her owner left her because she was afraid of her approaching puppies.
At first glance of the shelter volunteers, she was very guarded and used up all her energy to keep them away, protecting her motherly instincts. But after a while, she relaxed her guard and became sociable. “Look at her belly – there may be 13 or 14 babies inside. We attempt to schedule her test for tomorrow because she is quite weak,” stated a volunteer. “Tonight will be a very long night for Natijali and for us. Prepare for her ultrasound to ensure that everything is in order.” Natijali is allowed to return to the shelter with the aid required for the kids’ delivery, and she succeeds – the first baby is a very bright young boy. “Can you count how many puppies there are? It’s 14 – Natijali gave birth to 14 adorable babies.”
