After losing her beloved pet Hayden, who was a German shepherd and had degenerative myelopathy, a disease that progressively affects the spinal cord of senior dogs, Fowler started to adopt puppies with disabilities.
Hayden faced a tough challenge when he fell prey to an illness that left him unable to utilize his hind legs. However, with the aid of a wheelchair, he was able to carry on with his life to the fullest despite the ongoing battle.
Following a tough battle with an illness, Hayden eventually lost his life. However, all of the effort he put in during his struggle did not go to waste. Fowler decided to pay tribute to Hayden by assisting other dogs in similar situations. As a result, she rescued a total of six puppies that require special attention and care. She is now dedicated to ensuring they have a fulfilling and joyous existence.
The group of lovable dogs under her care are affectionately known as “The Fowler Herd.” They share a strong bond with their caregiver and with one another, often spending their time playing outside together or venturing out to explore the surrounding neighborhood. Among the group, six of the pups require special equipment to assist them in getting around due to their disabilities, while the remaining two are able-bodied.
Fowler suggests that caring for a disabled dog is not as daunting as people might think. While it may require additional effort and may not be suitable for everyone, it can be an extremely fulfilling experience for many individuals.

Fowler is quick to switch out their wheels for skis, ensuring that they can keep up with their playful antics no matter what the weather brings.
