Meet Reuben, the lovable dog rescued from Romania despite being born with only two functional legs. Despite his deformity, Reuben doesn’t let it dampen his spirit and runs around like a T-rex, holding his deformed front paw like a tyrannosaurus rex forelimb. Safe Rescue for Dogs, a British charity, saved Reuben from certain death in the same Eastern European village where another puppy named Roo was rescued earlier this year. According to Zoe Hare, a charity worker, Reuben doesn’t know any different and throws himself into everything with the same enthusiasm as four-legged puppies.
The dog, known as Ruben, has a malformed front paw which he holds in a peculiar manner similar to that of a tyrannosaurus rex forelimb. However, he makes up for his disability by using his tail to balance himself. Luckily, he was rescued by Safe Rescue for Dogs, a UK-based charity organization, from an Eastern European village where he faced a certain death. Zoe Hare, a worker at the charity, mentioned that Ruben is oblivious to his condition and approaches life with the same energy and enthusiasm as any four-legged pup. His unique gait and behavior often amuse and confuse people on the streets as he stomps around like a dinosaur and bounces around with joy.

Karen Stanway, a 31-year-old dog owner, adopted Reuben, a cheerful puppy who was saved from Romania by Safe Rescue. She hopes to improve Reuben’s quality of life with the addition of a set of wheels. Karen, who previously worked as a veterinary nurse before taking time off to care for her daughter, fell in love with the seven-month-old pup before meeting him. Despite being born with only two legs, Reuben loves playing with Karen’s other dog, Ally, and going for walks. However, Karen often receives unpleasant looks from strangers while out with Reuben. While he’s a happy dog, Reuben tires quickly due to the extra effort required to move around with only his back legs.
In her own words, Karen explained that there were a few weeks between when she first expressed interest in adopting the puppy and when she actually got him. During that time, she spent her efforts preparing ramps, gates, and brainstorming various ways to improve his quality of life. As a young pup, he is full of energy and needs to run around, so Karen decided that a set of wheels would be the best solution for the time being. She also noted that the puppy has formed a deep bond with her five-year-old daughter, Penny. Karen has created a crowdfunding page to raise funds for his wheels, but is only asking for a modest sum of £500 from strangers. She emphasized that she is eager to see him experience the freedom he deserves, as he is a truly special and happy dog who has been through a lot already.
